The encryption is the same. The difference is in validation and warranty: paid OV/EV certificates verify your company, show its name in the certificate, and come with a warranty from the authority. For the padlock alone, free is enough.
If your site is hosted with us, often none; free SSL comes installed. Choose OV if you want your company name shown, Wildcard if you have many subdomains, and EV if you want the highest assurance on your payment pages.
If your hosting is with us, we do. If it’s on another server, we send the certificate files and installation steps for your server type; if you get stuck, our support team will help.
We remind you 30, 7 and 1 day before. If auto-renewal is on, we install the new certificate before the old one expires, so the padlock never disappears.
No. Every certificate covers the domain both with and without www.
Full refund before issuance. After issuance, refunds are given within 14 days by revoking the certificate.
