Clone server
If your primary server goes down, the clone takes over automatically
A clone server is a second server that connects to your primary server through our own sync software and syncs itself every 5 minutes. If the primary server crashes, is attacked or its data center has an outage, the clone takes over on its own, and your website and applications keep running.
- Synced every 5 minutes
- Takes over automatically if the primary server goes down
- On a different continent from the primary server
Our own sync software
We built the software that links the clone to your server
Software we developed ourselves connects the clone to your primary server, syncs it every 5 minutes and monitors the primary server continuously. When the primary server goes down, it brings the clone online without waiting for anyone to press a button.
- 01 · Normal
Sync every 5 minutes
The primary server is online. Every 5 minutes the software copies changed files and database records to the clone, which stands by ready.
- 02 · Outage
Primary server not responding
The software checks the primary server continuously. It detects a hardware failure, an attack or a data center outage right away.
- 03 · Clone active
The clone takes over automatically
Traffic is switched to the clone on its own and your website loads from the clone. We notify you by email and WhatsApp.

How it works
A standby server in six steps
We set up the clone once and it runs on its own from then on. You simply keep working on your primary server.
- 1Connection
We link your primary server to the clone with our own sync software. A dedicated, restricted SSH key is all it needs. Your server can be hosted with us or with another provider.
- 2Initial copy
Files, databases, web server and PHP settings, cron jobs and SSL certificates are transferred to the clone for the first time.
- 3Sync every 5 minutes
Every 5 minutes the software transfers only changed files and database changes to the clone, so your primary server does not slow down.
- 4Monitoring
The software checks the primary server continuously. If the sync falls behind or the primary server stops responding, it notices immediately.
- 5Automatic failover
When the primary server goes down, the clone takes over on its own: DNS records are pointed to the clone and visitors reach your website there. We notify you right away.
- 6Failback
Once the primary server is back, we copy the new data created on the clone back and move traffic to the primary server again.
Plans
Choose based on the size of your primary server
The clone's disk must hold the space used on your primary server, and its CPU and memory must be able to handle the load during failover. If you are not sure, we can review your server and recommend a plan.

Setup and initial sync take 1–2 business days after your order. We request your primary server's access details securely through a support ticket.
What gets synced
A working copy of your server, not just your files
A backup stores your files. A clone keeps your server running.
Files
Website and application files, uploaded images and mailboxes (optional). Only changes are transferred.
Databases
MySQL / MariaDB and PostgreSQL. Transferred from a consistent snapshot, so no half-written records.
Settings and services
Web server, PHP version and extensions, cron jobs, SSL certificates and firewall rules.
Monitoring and alerts
If the primary server stops responding or the sync falls behind, we notify you by email and WhatsApp.
Automatic failover
When the primary server stops responding, DNS records are switched to the clone automatically. No one has to step in manually.
Failover test
Bring up the clone on a separate address without touching the primary server and check that your website runs on it.
Secure transfer
Data is transferred over an encrypted SSH connection, using a key restricted to sync only.
Works with any provider
Your primary server can be hosted with us, with another hosting provider or in your own data center.
Use cases
Who needs a clone server?
Disaster recovery
In the event of hardware failure, disk corruption or a fire, your business is down for minutes instead of hours.
Data center outages
The clone runs on a different continent from the primary server, so the same outage does not affect it.
Safe staging environment
Test updates on the clone first. If something breaks, your primary server is not affected.
Reporting
Run heavy reports and analytics on the clone's database so your primary server does not slow down.
Zero-downtime migration
When changing servers, prepare the clone and switch over in one step, with no downtime during the migration.
Protection during attacks
While the primary server is under attack, move traffic to the clean clone and gain time.
Backup or clone?
A backup keeps your data. A clone keeps your business running.
One does not replace the other. A backup is for restoring a deleted file; a clone is for keeping your business running when your server goes down.
| A backup keeps your data. A clone keeps your business running. | Daily backup | Clone server |
|---|---|---|
| What is stored | Archive of files and databases | A running server |
| When the server goes down | A new server is set up and the backup restored | The clone takes over automatically |
| Who does it | Manual setup and restore | Automatic, handled by our software |
| Potential data loss | Everything since the last backup (up to 24 hours) | At most the last 5 minutes |
| Time to get back online | Hours | Minutes, automatically |
| Testing in advance | Difficult | Failover test |
| Cost | Low | Same as a server |
Requirements
What do we need to set up a clone?
All we need from you is access details. We take care of the rest.
Have my server checked- Linux server: Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux or CentOS
- SSH access with root or sudo privileges (we install a key restricted to sync only)
- Used disk space must be smaller than the clone plan's disk
- cPanel, Plesk and DirectAdmin servers are supported; a separate control panel license is required on the clone
Windows servers and custom systems with a self-compiled kernel are not supported at this time. We check whether your server is suitable free of charge before you order.

Our sales team can suggest a plan for your needs.
It is a second server that connects to your primary server through our own sync software, syncs itself every 5 minutes and stands by. If the primary server goes down, the clone takes over automatically and your website keeps running from it.
It is sync and monitoring software we developed ourselves to connect the clone to your primary server. It copies changes to the clone every 5 minutes, monitors the primary server continuously and brings the clone online when the primary server goes down. It connects to your primary server over encrypted SSH, using a key restricted to sync only.
A backup stores your data, but when the server goes down, setting up a new server and restoring the backup takes hours. A clone is already running, so failover takes minutes. We recommend using both.
No. Your primary server can be hosted with us, with another hosting provider or in your own data center. SSH access is all we need.
No. After the initial copy, only changed files and database changes are transferred every 5 minutes, and the load is kept low.
Every 5 minutes. If the primary server goes down, the most data you could lose is the last 5 minutes.
Yes. MySQL / MariaDB and PostgreSQL databases are transferred from a consistent snapshot, so no half-written record reaches the clone.
Our sync software monitors the primary server continuously. When it stops responding, the clone takes over automatically, your DNS records are pointed to the clone and we notify you right away. For automatic failover, your domain's DNS must be managed by us; you only need to change your name servers. Depending on the record's cache time (TTL), the switch completes within a few minutes.
No. Automatic failover, failback and two failover tests per year are included in the plan price.
The clone's disk must hold the space used on your primary server, and its CPU and memory must be able to handle the load during failover. The same size as your primary server, or one size smaller, is usually enough.
In our US data center, on a different continent from your primary server. This way a regional outage does not affect both.
Data is transferred over an encrypted SSH connection. We connect to your primary server with a key restricted to sync only, and only you and our technical team can access the clone server.
Yes. Simply turn off renewal before the end of the billing period. Data on the clone is deleted when the service ends, and your primary server is not affected.
Keep your business running even if your primary server goes down
